Daytona Beach, Fla., (Jan. 30, 2020) - Anyone interested in exploring a college education, advancing their career or re-tooling for a new job should make plans to attend a Spring Open House at Daytona State College. An Arts Open House kicks off the series on Thursday, Feb. 20 at DSC’s News-Journal Center where attendees can find out more about the Music Production Technology and Audio/Recording Technology programs, plus music, studio arts and drama.

Refreshments will be provided and new students attending each Open House will have the opportunity to win a $500 Daytona State scholarship, two scholarship drawings per Open House, presented by the Daytona State College Foundation.

Visitors can speak with College representatives about programs offered, including the Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management, Bachelor of Science in Education, Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, plus the NEW Bachelor of Science in Accounting, as well as associate of arts, associate of science, and certificate programs. Financial Aid experts will also be on hand along with advisors for Dual Enrollment, which is a great opportunity for students who would like to get started with free college classes while still in high school.

FREE for attendees: enjoy the opening reception for the Fine Arts Exhibition “Imagination Color” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the theatrical performance “Sister Act” – show beings at 7:30 p.m. in the Gillespy Theater.

Thursday, March 26
Advanced Technology College

Showcases for individual program areas include: Building & Architecture; Computer Science; Dual Enrollment; Engineering Technology; Public Services (criminal justice, emergency medical/paramedic, fire science); and Workforce programs. This Open House also includes Opportunity Day, which allows area company representatives to meet with students to discuss the education and training they will need in order to pursue their careers. Representatives provide students with relevant, real-world understanding of their professions and future career opportunities as they relate to the programs offered at the Advanced Technology College.
