Daytona State College Falcons pink’d out for breast cancer awareness
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Feb. 21, 2012) – Daytona State College’s men’s and women’s basketball
teams played their last home games of the 2011-12 season on Saturday, Feb. 18, and
to mark the occasion they showed their support for breast cancer awareness by wearing
pink warm-up shirts. The squads also recognized sophomore players for their team spirit,

Lady Falcon sophomores included: #3 Stormey Smith, #4 Karen Bivens-Flagg, #15 Denisha
Green, #23 Jasmine Poole, #24 Shanequa Schrouder, #30 Shanterra Bland and #41 Jamila
Thompson.
Falcon sophomores included: #4 Jabbar Reid, #5 Jaquan Jones, #11 Darius Hall, #15
Demarkco Foster, and #23 Jarod Leonard.
The Mid-Florida Conference games conclude on Wednesday, Feb. 22 in Jacksonville where
the Lady Falcons aim to solidify the season championship before heading to the state
tournament, March 8 – 10.
Daytona State College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association
and the Florida Community College Athletics Association Mid-Florida Conference. The
Falcons currently compete in seven Division I NJCAA sports including Men's and Women's
Basketball, Baseball, Fast-Pitch Softball, Women's Golf and Men’s and Women’s Swimming
and Diving. The main focus of the Daytona State Falcons athletic program is to prepare
student-athletes for success in life. This is accomplished through strong academic
programs and support services coupled with quality coaching and athletic facilities.
