Dr. Miles earned her baccalaureate and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida. She served as president for the National Organization for Associated Degree Nursing from 2008-2010, board member for the  Florida Center for Nursing from 2012-2020, and currently serves as a board of commissioner for the Accreditation Commission in Education for Nursing. She has also served as chair for the Florida Council of Nurse Educator Administrators and has been appointed to many ad hoc committees to represent nursing.

Dr. Miles has been employed at Daytona State College since 1999. She has held many positions, such as faculty, nursing chair, dean of health careers, associate vice president for institutional effectiveness, and associate vice president for the college of health and public services. She is currently employed as faculty and teaches in the associate to baccalaureate nursing transition program. She has worked with schools in the areas of curriculum development, program accreditation and data review to demonstrate program need. Her interest is working with faculty to integrate manageable assessment and evaluation processes within the curriculum.
