The Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) grant is a federal program of the U.S. Department of Education that assists student parents with the cost of keeping their children enrolled in quality, accredited, and conveniently located child care services. Our program provides partial funding to students who are eligible to receive Pell grants and are in pursuit of post-secondary education.

CCAMPIS participants are required to attend ONE parent orientation during the awarded semester. Additional parent workshops/events are offered each semester and count towards Parent Points. Collected points are used to apply for the CCAMPIS Engaged Student Parent Scholarship.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for the CCAMPIS program?
If you meet the program's eligibility requirements and are interested in applying for the CCAMPIS program, you can visit the Center for Women and Men office to pick up an application (Monday - Friday 8am-5pm) or you can visit the CCAMPIS website to apply online.

What type of services does the CCAMPIS program provide?
CCAMPIS can pay up to 75% of your child care costs. The amount of funding is based on your enrollment status, expected family contribution, and a sliding fee scale. In addition, CCAMPIS students receive access to fun parenting workshops, educational resources, scholarships, and a supportive student parent network.

Does the CCAMPIS program cover other child care expenses (i.e. registration/application fees)?
The CCAMPIS program can offer one-time registration/application fee assistance for eligible participants.

When are applications available/due?
Applications are available and accepted year-round.

How long will my application be retained?
Your application is valid for one academic year, however, you must re-certify each semester.

If I submit my "complete" application, will I be approved?
Applicants will be selected based on funding and space availability. Grant funds are limited, not all who apply will be selected.

May I use my current child care provider?
CCAMPIS participants must select one of the approved, accredited child care centers from the CCAMPIS Provider Network

How many children will the CCAMPIS program sponsor?
The CCAMPIS program can sponsor up to 3 children per eligible student/parent.

Does the CCAMPIS program pay for my child's entire child care cost?
The CCAMPIS program will fund partial child care assistance. The student/parent will be responsible for a child care co-payment and this will be based on a sliding fee scale according to the student's enrollment status and estimated family contribution.

If my Pell award is pending, can I still apply for the CCAMPIS program?
Yes. You can still apply for the CCAMPIS program. But, your application will be incomplete. In order to qualify for the CCAMPIS program, your application must include ALL supporting documents before your application can be reviewed for consideration.

If I am registered in the Adult Education and/or English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) program at Daytona State College, will the CCAMPIS program assist with child care?
No. You must be enrolled in at least 6.0 credit hours of College level coursework throughout the semester and be Pell eligible.

When will I know if I am going to receive CCAMPIS funding?
You will know if you have been accepted into the CCAMPIS program before the start of the semester in which you are applying for. A CCAMPIS representative will contact you by phone and/or email using the contact information you provided on your application.

If I am registered for night classes, can I apply for the CCAMPIS program?
CCAMPIS program requires enrollment in a minimum of 6.0 College-level credit hours (lecture and online). Our approved child care providers are typically open until 6:00 pm. Therefore, if all of your classes are after our child care provider hours, you would not be eligible for assistance.
