Thank you for your interest in the DSC Adult High School program. High school classes are offered for students 16 years of age or older who possess a minimum of 18 high school credits and a 2.0 GPA. Students enrolled in the DSC Adult High School are required to complete 24 academic credits and pass all End of Course Exams (EOC's) and Florida Standards Assessments (FSA) ELA (Reading and Writing) mandated by the State of Florida.
The DSC Adult High School is an online non-traditional program with open entry. To enroll, students must be officially withdrawn from their current school and must present his or her official withdrawal form from that school to the college admissions office. Prospective students can complete the online application available at Daytonastate.edu. All students applying for the DSC Adult High School will be required to take the CASAS assessment (picture ID required) and pay the $30.00 Adult Education fee before receiving an official schedule.
All students must earn a minimum of two credits a semester. Students not earning two academic credits per 16-week semester will be placed on academic probation for the following semester. Students will be expected to make up the unearned credit(s) from the previous semester as well as the two credits for the current semester. Students continuing to not earn the required credits per semester will not be permitted to remain in the high school program and must register for the GED program the following semester.
Students are required to purchase their first four textbooks. From that point with each ½ credit earned, a textbook can be traded in for the text that is then needed for the next class.
