Delligatti and Caraballo Commit with Daytona State

Daytona State College is proud to announce the recent commitments of two outstanding Florida high school volleyball players for 2014. Isabella Caraballo and Halleigh Delligatti will be signing on with the Lady Falcons, November 1st, as the signing period opens for the NJCAA. Carballo, a senior at Lake Placid High School, is a dynamic 6'0" outside hitter. Delligatti, a senior at University High School, is a libero that exhibits strong serve receive and defensive skills.

Caraballo's, Lake Placid High School team, is currently undefeated in districts. In addition to a strong high school program, Caraballo plays for one of the premier club volleyball programs in Florida, Top Select. With Top Select she has had the opportunity to participate in AAU Nationals, as well as, an USAV Junior Olympics in Dallas, Texas in 2013. In addition to these team honors, Caraballo was recently selected as a member of the POSTYOURT All Star team that will compete in November in Saint Petersburg, FL.   Last year she was named to the All County Team.

Beyond her excellent performance on the court, Caraballo has also demonstrated her ability to be a strong leader in her school and community. She is a current member of SGA and has recorded countless hours of community service. She currently boasts a 3.0 GPA, volunteers with multiple organizations, and is a former member of 4-H.

Halleigh Delligatti's, University High School team, is achieving similar success. Her Titan volleyball squad is a heavy favorite going into districts next week. Delligatti currently holds multiple records at her high school for digs in a match, digs in a season, and most aces in a match and season. As a member of Powers Volleyball Academy, Delligatti and her team finished 5th in AAU Nationals. She was elected by the club as Defensive Player of the Year.

Academically, Delligatti is an overachiever. She currently holds a 3.9 GPA in University's Finance Academy. She is a member of National Honor's Society, on the Honor Roll, as well as, a member of the Young Republicans Club.

Both Delligatti and Caraballo will have an opportunity to further enhance the budding volleyball program at Daytona State College.
