Joely Cabrera Named to First Team All-State-Other Falcons Receive Honors


Joely Cabrera and her Lady Falcon teammates wrapped up an impressive first season finishing 21-16 overall. Cabrera was recently named to Region 8's All-State Team which is nominated and voted on by the coaches. She was one of the eight players from Florida chosen to represent the region on the first team.

Cabrera, an outside hitter for the Falcons, finished the regular season 5th in the nation in kills in the NJCAA and first in the Mid-Florida Conference with kills. She accumulated an impressive 522 kills on the season. In addition to her offensive contributions, Cabrera also amassed 32 aces and 316 digs on the season.

Fellow teammate, Halle Dotson was named alongside Cabrera to the Mid-Florida All Conference First Team. This dynamic duo provided over 50 percent of the offense for the Falcons on the season. Dotson accrued 460 kills in her freshmen season.   She also added 38 aces and 129 digs.

Additionally, Kiara Colson and Caitlin Conner received recognition as members of the Mid-Florida Conference Second Team. Conner finished the season with 1,554 assists, while Colson accumulated an impressive 479 digs on the season.

The Lady Falcons return all four honorees next year, for what should prove to be a very exciting year for Lady Falcon Volleyball.
