Lady Falcons Receive Mid-Florida Conference Honors

In the midst of the completion of their inaugural season, with a current record of 20-15, individual Lady Falcons were recognized for their superior play in the Mid-Florida Conference. Freshmen, Joely Cabrera and Halle Dotson, were honored as First Team All-Conference selections for their excellent performance throughout the season and during conference play.

Cabrera, an outside hitter for the Falcons, is currently 5th in the nation in the NJCAA and 1st in the Mid-Florida Conference for kills. She has accumulated 503 kills on the season. In addition to her offensive contributions Cabrera has also amassed 32 aces and 316 digs.

Dotson, the Falcon's right side attacker, has also been spotlighted in the nation's top 20 for kills. Currently at 11th in the nation, Dotson has accrued 445 kills on the season.   Additionally, she has added 36 aces and 124 digs to the Falcons stats.

Cabrera and Dotson were not the only Falcons to receive recognition in their first season of play. Setter, Caitlin Conner, and libero, Kiara Colson, were also honored for their performances this season. They were recognized on the Mid-Florida Conference Second Team.

Conner, currently third in the nation in assists, has made a solid transition to running a college style offense. She currently has 1,554 assists on the season.

Colson, a defensive firecracker for the Falcons, has provided the Falcons with a solid serve reception, as well as, impressive hustle and precision on defense. Colson presently has 469 digs this season.

The Lady Falcons have a lot to be proud of in their inaugural season. With 20 wins under their belt, and a group of talented freshmen returning next year, the future for Falcon Volleyball looks bright.
