Loftus Commits to Play With Falcons

Emily Loftus Commits to Daytona State College

Emily Loftus will join the Falcons this fall as a transfer.  Loftus will join the program as a sophomore after playing her freshmen season for the Panthers of Florida International University.

Loftus, a native of Winter Springs, FL, had an opportunity to return and play close to home with her move to Daytona State.  She attended and graduated from Winter Springs High School in 2013.  She played under the direction of Isaac Rafael (current Bethune Cookman University Head Coach) during her high school career, where she earned four varsity letters in volleyball.

At Winter Springs High School she tied the school record for kills in a match with 31 kills.  Additionally, she helped lead her team to 4 conference championships, 3 district titles, and finished her junior (2011) season as FHSAA Class 7A State Runner-Ups.

Loftus received Second Team All-Conference honors her junior year, followed by a First Team All-Conference nod in 2012 as a senior.  Her senior season performances also earned her a place on the Second Team All-Central Florida team.

After an impressive high school career for the Bears and club season for Orlando Volleyball Academy, Loftus attended Florida International University in Miami, FL.  Loftus had the opportunity to play in 11 matches as a freshman for the Panthers.

Loftus is a member of Rho Kappa Honors Society and after completing her Associates of Arts Degree at Daytona State will pursue a nursing degree.
