Kandler Commits to Daytona State

Alica Kandler

Alica Kandler, a 5'11" outside hitter, committed to Falcons this week adding a strong arm and solid defender to the Falcon roster.
Kandler comes to the Falcon program with a young decorated playing career in Germany. In 2010, Kandler was elected to the German National Team. To date, her biggest accomplishment comes as a member of this team. In 2013, her team qualified for the European Championships.

In addition to being elected to the German National Team, Kandler has also played for the Westgerman Volleyball Association. This is an impressive accomplishment, as this team is an assembly of the top 12, 14 year old players in her federal state. This team, originally assembled in 2009, has gone on to win the tournament of all the 16 federal states in 2011 and 2012, as well as, finishing 3rd in 2013.

"Kandler is a very skilled all-around player that will bring a lot of experience despite her young playing career. She is very versatile with a heavy swing," Coach Stegall commented on the recent commitment.

Kandler joins Caraballo and Deligatti in the Falcon's 2014 recruiting class, as Coach Stegall looks to add a few additional recruits to her strong returning roster from 2013. The Falcons are excited to embark on the 2014 season. The return of strong players like Cabrera and Dotson, and the addition of Kandler and the other 2014 recruits make the future very bright for this budding program that finished 22-16 in 2013 with several solid wins including a win over the 9th ranked team in the nation.
