Two Lady Falcons Receive National Recognition

Freshmen, Caitlin Conner, Halle Dotson, and Joely Cabrera, are receiving recognition for their superior play thus far this season.  As of October 1st, these Lady Falcon volleyball players have established themselves in the NJCAA polls for their offensive play for Daytona State.

Joely Cabrera, Daytona State’s starting outside hitter, has shown that size doesn’t matter.  Her explosive vertical and big swing has landed her tied at #4 in the rankings for season kills.  She currently holds that position with 334 kills on the season.  Additionally, Joely is ranked nationally for kills per set.  She holds the 11th position with 4.02 kills per set.

Halle Dotson, Daytona State’s 6’2” lefty, is providing a big attack for the Falcons on the right side and the back row.  Dotson currently lands at the 9th position for season kills with 288.  She is also ranked 33rd for kills per set with 3.35 kills.

Caitlin Conner, Daytona State's starting setter, has proven to be instrumental in the success of this young Falcon team.  Conner, who has only been setting for a short amount of time, is ranked 2nd in the nation for assists per set with 11.20.
