Nov. 5 comedy combines signing, tango dancing and sword-fighting

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Oct. 6, 2009) - Based on a short story by Argentine writer Julio Cortazar, "La Casa Tomada" will be performed for one night only by Daytona State College students on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Performed in the Theater Center (bldg. 220) on the Daytona Beach Campus, "La Casa Tomada" is a comedy featuring singing, tango dancing as well as a sword fight. Presented entirely in Spanish, the play will be introduced to the audience in both Spanish and English.

"This is our third year of presenting this comedy," stated Daytona State Professor, Suzanne Stewart. "Students in Spanish I, II and III classes are putting their language skills into practice and the audience will also have the opportunity to participate with a lesson in Spanish vowels."

The performance is free and open to the public. For more information call Stewart at (386) 506-3540.
