Explore the “science” of CSI during faculty colloquium


DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Sept. 2, 2009) - A colloquium, presented by the Center for Interdisciplinary Writing and Research (CIWR) at Daytona State College, on the topic of "The ‘science’ of CSI," will take place Friday, Sept. 4, from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. in the Madorsky Theater located in the Mori Hosseini Center (Bldg. 1200) on the Daytona Beach Campus at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.
 
Dr. Richard Doolin, assisant professor, Biology, discusses the “science” of CSI and other medical shows. Attendees will gain an insight into how bad the “science” really is and why these shows should be watched for entertainment purposes only. Lecture is free and open to the public.

Friday, Nov. 20, 11 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.  – “The Feminine Gaze and the Other in Victorian Travel Writing,” presented by Casey Blanton.

Friday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. – “In Defense of Deconstruction,” presented by Harun Thomas.
