DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Aug. 25, 2010) – The Student Activities Department at Daytona State College is inviting currently enrolled students who are interested in cheerleading to tryout for the 2010-11 cheerleading team. The Falcon cheerleaders perform at all men’s and women’s home basketball games, as well as at various campus events, and participate in community service projects. Experienced or beginner cheerleaders are welcome.
An information and orientation session will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; interviews and material learning will be held Wednesday, Sept. 8 and Thursday, Sept. 9 from 6:30 p.m.; and tryouts will be held Friday, Sept. 10, from 6:30 p.m. Participants are required to attend all four dates and should come wearing shorts and t-shirt. Participants will be notified by e-mail following tryouts if they made the team.
All sessions will be held in the L. Gale Lemerand Center (bldg. 310) located on the Daytona Beach Campus at 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.
A mandatory team meeting will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. in the L. Gale Lemerand Center (gymnasium).
