Calendar of events at Daytona State announced for August 2012

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (July 11, 2012) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for August 2012.

MUSEUM HOURS: Closed Mondays; OPEN – Tues, Thurs, Fri: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Wed: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.  Weekends: 1 - 5 p.m. (June, July and December Hours: Tues-Sun: 12 - 4 p.m.)  CLOSED – Mondays and for the following dates: Daytona 500 Weekend, Daytona State College Spring Break, Easter Sunday, July 4, July 30 - August 13, and Thanksgiving Weekend.

MUSEUM LOCATION: Unless noted otherwise, all museum exhibitions, events and films are presented at the Daytona State College Southeast Museum of Photography which is located on the Daytona Beach Campus of Daytona State College at 1200 International Speedway Blvd, three miles east of 1-95. The museum is located in the Hosseini Center (#1200). Visitor parking is available. Admission & Events are free. FACULTY FOCUS 2012: Steven Benson
FACULTY FOCUS exhibitions present photographic works from faculty of the photography studies programs at Daytona State College. This exhibition series is presented each year as part of the summer exhibition schedule of the Daytona State College Southeast Museum of Photography.
ALUMNI FOCUS 2012: Christian Weber
ALUMNI FOCUS is an exhibition of photographic works from alumni of the photography studies programs of Daytona State College and the University of Central Florida (Daytona Beach) that is presented each year as part of the summer exhibition schedule of the Daytona State College Southeast Museum of Photography.
 Free admission.

BEATE SASS: Tall Timbers Plantation Project
Tall Timbers Plantation Project is a personal photographic and oral history project that emerged from curiosity about the few tenant farmer dwellings still standing on plantations in north Florida and southwest Georgia. This project is divided into four groups, Portraits, The Jones Family Tenant Farm, The Landscape, and Light, Form and Expression in the Beadel House.

OPEN HOURS: The Southeast Museum of Photography’s LYONIA GALLERY will only be open to the public during the normal open hours of the Lyonia Environmental Center - Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.
