Perfectly Paired Partnerships: Increasing employment opportunities for graduates
presented by Ana Blaine & Heidi Kochis (Coordinator, Teacher Recruitment and Retention: Office of Human Resources for Volusia County Schools
Find out how to build positive relationships with community stakeholders to increase the likelihood that your graduates will gain employment in their desired field. Using a current job fair model developed between the College of Education at DSC and Volusia County Schools, this interactive session will provide ideas on how to bring employers to your program and students.

9th Annual Academic Excellence Symposium
"A Dialogue on Equity and Inclusion"
The annual event attracts educators from across the region who are interested in how higher education can strengthen foundations for student success, featuring a keynote speaker and break-out sessions for professional development. New for 2017, the symposium will include an "Ignite-style session," where speakers will be allotted five minutes to talk on a subject using 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. The symposium is free and open to education professionals interested in scholarly discussion and research.

March 8, 8.30-11:30 a.m.
CarFit®
Students in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Daytona State College will put their training into practice by offering older adults the opportunity
to check how their personal cars "fit" them. Created in 2005 by the American Society on Aging and developed in collaboration with AAA (American Automobile Association),
AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association, the CarFit® check takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and is designed to help older drivers find out how
well they currently fit their personal vehicle. The program identifies actions drivers can take to improve their fit, and to promote conversations about driver safety and community mobility.
