Transient Motel By Bryce Hammond
Transient Motel is a researchbased exhibition that investigates economically disadvantaged people inhabiting dilapidated motels. Within geographical locations similar to Daytona Beach, these oceanfront, special-event based, tourist cities provide material for an interactive installation of appropriated objects, architectural models and paintings.

Summer and Smoke
One of Tennessee Williams’ most poignant plays, Summer and Smoke is a provocative love story about a spinster, Alma, who is infatuated with her handsome neighbor, Dr. John Buchanan. Eventually, Alma finds herself pitted against John’s sensuous, reckless nature. They engage in an emotional battle of wills and their struggle between body and soul, anarchy and order, and lust and love leads to profound changes in both their lives. Free to Daytona State College and Volusia and Flagler county students, as well as Daytona State College faculty and staff, all others $8 per person or $15 for two.

Music Recording Technology and Performing Arts Open House
A center stage and behind the scenes look at Daytona State College’s Mike Curbe College of Music, Entertainment and Art, including the degree program in Music Production and Recording Technology. Take a tour of the News-Journal Center and new state-of-the-art recording studios; register for a chance to win a $500 scholarship provided by the Daytona State Foundation! The event culminates with a free concert at 7:30 p.m.

Music Production Rocks!
This performance comes as the culmination of a semester-long course in the contemporary performance aspects of modern rock, pop, blues and country music. The groups will perform a variety of selections that are representative of successful touring bands. Free to Daytona State College and Volusia and Flagler county students, as well as Daytona State College faculty and staff, all others $8 per person or $15 for two.
