Join us for an exciting exhibit featuring the diversity of DSC studio arts student work represented in various mediums and approaches. This show celebrates the talent, creativity and imagination of our students. Opening Reception (with light refreshments and awards): April 9, 6-8 p.m.

Music Production Rocks!
This performance comes as the culmination of a semester-long course in the contemporary performance aspects of modern rock, pop, blues and country music. The groups will perform a variety of selections that are representative of successful touring bands.

Transitions: Reflections on Coming-of-Age
Students from Daytona State College Advanced Acting Classes will perform a showcase of scenes exploring the unique, beautiful and often challenging transition from child to adulthood. Pieces from authors such as Tennessee Williams and Wendy McLaughlin will delight audiences, with reflections about the experience of coming-of-age.

This performance showcases the students in our dance studio classes. It will feature choreography of the dance instructors and select dance students in ballet, jazz and modern dance. Come enjoy the talents of our dance faculty and students, as they have been working hard all semester to present this recital for you today!

Open House @ News-Journal Center
Speak with college representatives about programs offered at Daytona State. Learn about bachelor of applied science, bachelor of science in education, bachelor of science in engineering technology, bachelor of science in information technology, bachelor of science in nursing, associate of arts and associate of science and certificate programs. Speak with Financial Aid experts to determine how to access funds needed to pursue higher education. Refreshments will be provided and students may enter a drawing for two $500 Daytona State scholarships presented by the Daytona State College Foundation.
Showcases for individual program area including: Music, Music Production Technology, Drama, and Dance. FREE admission to the Symphonic Band Concert at 7:30 p.m.

Symphonic Band Concert
The DSC Symphonic Band is honored to be among 70 ensembles from around the world invited to play a piece by a Valencian (Spain) composer during a 32-day period between April 14 and May 15, 2015. This event, called "Muestra Internacional de la Música Valenciana 2015," will feature the fiery and passionate music of Spanish Composer Luis Serrano. The worldwide event is being sponsored by the society M. I. Academia de la Música Valenciana.

Brass Band of Central Florida
The Brass Band of Central Florida, under the musical direction and baton of Chad Shoopman, features Central Florida's finest brass and percussion musicians performing in the British brass band style with a uniquely American twist. The organization has an active performance schedule, including worldwide concerts and competitions. The concert will also present the Youth Brass Band of Central Florida, an organization created to include the talented youth of Central Florida within the Brass Band's organization.

Victor Wainwright & The Wildroots: CD Release Party
"I would just like everyone to know, that I'm throwing a HUGE party to celebrate the release of our new album, on May 30th, in Daytona Beach, FL. I'm inviting all my friends and family! I would absolutely love it if everyone could attend, and it would mean a lot to me to have you there. We have people coming from all parts of the country. I can't wait for all of you to hear this new album. I'm also excited to be able to perform again at the News Journal Center, which is an 800 seat beautiful theater. This will be the third CD release party we've put on there. It's become tradition! But this time, we have even more guests, more surprises, the tightest show yet, and of course, the full WildRoots recording band!
