Jan. 5–30, 11:15. a.m.–noon (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays)
Aqua Aerobics “Stretch & Twist”
This water exercise program provides a total body workout for those of moderate to advanced fitness levels. Classes include exercises for aerobic conditioning, flexibility, and strength training. Aqua Aerobics offers a safe and refreshing way to exercise for all ages. Cost $5 per class; 10 classes, pre-paid $35.

Lifeguarding Course
Whether you want to pursue as a season or career opportunity, the America Red Cross certified lifeguarding course offered at Daytona State College provides the necessary training to help individuals develop rescue skills and be trained in First Aid, CPR and AED. Participants will learn how to prevent accidents through knowledge of lifeguarding, proper use of equipment and realization of responsibilities. Course fee is $200 and requires a $75 non-refundable deposit due by Jan. 9, 2015. Pre-test: Jan. 13, 5-6 p.m., classes continue Jan. 13-16, 6-9 p.m.,  Jan. 17, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and conclude Jan. 18, 1-7 p.m.

American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard REVIEW Course Only
Lifeguarding is a 2-year certification. The Lifeguarding Review course will re-certify the current lifeguard in lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. The review course consists of a pre-test swim, review of skills, practical application, and written exams. Course fee is $125 and requires a $50 non-refundable deposit by Jan. 9, 2015, balance due first day of class.

Jan. 30, 5-9 p.m. and Jan. 31, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Water Aerobics Instructor Course
Hosted by the Daytona State College Aquatic Center, this two-day course provides a solid foundation in the art of instructing water fitness classes. The course covers basic water exercises, safety and how to develop classes to help clients reach their fitness goals. A large portion of the course takes place in the pool so you can practice the exercises yourself. Certification is valid for a period of two years. CPR/Defibrillation certification is a pre-requisite and is required for all participants in the instructor training certification course.  An instructor's rating is obtained by passing a written test (80 percent) and demonstrating successful teaching skills. Fee $250 includes:  Study Guide, Testing, Red Cross "Safety in and around the water course", lunch and a Ship Shape Water Fitness Instructor T-Shirt for all pre-registered participants. Re-certification $72 with current CPR and 15 CEC's; or $100 to take the course prior to expiration, Adult CPR/Defibrillation – $45.
