WISE: FLORIDA, A STATE TORN BY THE CIVIL WAR 
Wisdom In Senior Education (W.I.S.E.) is a program offered by the Daytona State College Foundation to promote and share the academic college resources with our senior community, providing learning opportunities in an enjoyable format. One of the first states to secede, Florida was a hotbed of intrigue between "fire-eating" Confederates and "loyal" Unionists, which was the result of a strong presence of Union soldiers in the Northeast Florida region. Presented by Dr. Nancy Duke.

WISE: DAYTONA STATE STUDENTS' SUMMER TRIP TO IRELAND & ITALY
Wisdom In Senior Education (W.I.S.E.) is a program offered by the Daytona State College Foundation to promote and share the academic college resources with our senior community, providing learning opportunities in an enjoyable format. Professors Lee and Gunshanan, along with several of their students, will speak about their summer study abroad trip to Ireland during its yearlong centenary commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rebellion. Professors Stern and Berning will share highlights of Italian art and theater captured during their recent study abroad trip with our DSC students.

SAVE THE DATE - HOMECOMING 2016

Nov. 2-5, 2016 | Featuring a series of events to celebrate Falcon Pride throughout our community, including a Fall Festival and Barbecue, Lady Falcons home basketball game, a student art exhibition at the News-Journal Center, a Homecoming 2016soccer clinic for youth, Alumni softball game, Alumni baseball game, a Falcons home basketball game, and introduction of the men's and women's soccer team who'll kick-off their inaugural season this fall. Plus, a Holiday Bazaar presented by the Daytona State College Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges and Car Show. Throughout that week everyone is encouraged to show their Falcon Pride by wearing their DBJC, DBCC and DSC apparel. Be sure to tag your photos and share on social media with #FalconsFlyingHigh.
