Calendar of events at Daytona State announced for June 2013
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 10, 2013) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for June 2013.
Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.

~ Baseball Showcase, May 11 and June 2, is designed for high school players in grades 10-12. Participants will showcase their talents in front of the Falcon coaching staff in addition to receiving a tour of the facilities and learning more about life with the Falcon baseball program. ~ The two-day Little Falcon Softball Camp (for ages 7-13, $65) runs June 10-11 and covers all aspects of the fast-pitch game including speed and agility. The skill sessions are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. with pool time from 3 to 4 p.m. Campers will need to bring their own lunch. For older students, a three-day Falcon Softball Camp (for ages 14-18, $175) runs July 24-26. This camp also covers all aspects of the fast-pitch game including speed and agility. Skill sessions are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 to 2 p.m., with a live game at the end of the day. Campers need to bring their own lunch. For middle school students, a three-day Falcon Middle School Academy (for ages 11-14, $175) runs Aug. 7-9. This camp also covers all aspects of the fast-pitch game including speed and agility. Skill sessions are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 to 2 p.m., with a live game at the end of the day. Campers need to bring their own lunch. Each camp is hosted and staffed by the Daytona State Lady Falcon coaches and players. To register or for more information, call (386) 506-4523.
~ Splashy Summer for Kids is presented by the Daytona State College Aquatics Center and features four sessions of week-long SCUBA Training camps (for ages 12-18) starting June 17. Subsequent camps are scheduled for June 24, July 8 and July 15. Cost for each SCUBA Training camp is $155 per participant. ~ A four-day All-Skills Volleyball Camp (for ages 8-14, $75) will be held July 8-11 and emphasizes on-court training of the fundamental skills in volleyball. Sessions are committed to skill instruction, as well as competition and the overall team concept. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability to maximize their experience and growth. A five-day Elite Volleyball Camp (for ages 17-18, $50) will be held July 22-26 and emphasizes on-court training of volleyball skills. The camp will seek to enhance campers’ volleyball skills. Campers will receive specific position work as well as competitive team-concept play. Participation is limited to 25 students per camp. For additional information, call (386) 506-3670.
