Word 2007, VBA Programming
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course is designed to give experienced Word users proficiency in the Visual Basic Editor (VBE), Word objects, basic VBA programming, control structures, debuggin tools, advanced VBA programming, and event handling. The course fee is $95 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. Registration deadline: Sept. 30.

Oct. 26, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Excel 2007, Basic
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this one-day course provides competency in the basic functions and features of Excel 2007. After an introduction to spreadsheet terminology and Excel's window components, students will learn how to use the Help system and navigate worksheets and workbooks. Then they will enter and edit text, values, formulas, and pictures, and they will save workbooks in various formats. Students will also move and copy data, learn about absolute and relative references, and work with ranges, rows, and columns. This course also covers simple functions, basic formatting techniques, and printing. Finally, students will create and modify charts, and learn how to manage large workbooks. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class. Registration deadline: Oct. 19.

Building Analyst Professional Certification
The Center for Community & Professional Education at Daytona State College has teamed up with the Institute of Envelope Science to help you position yourself to be on the leading edge of the energy efficiency/green movement by being certified to provide Home Performance Testing. Learn the fundamentals of how a residential building works as a system and how to use the latest building science technology to help solve heating, cooling and air leakage problems. This course will teach how to evaluate the energy performance, comfort and safety of a house through a comprehensive, whole-house diagnostic procedure. Cost: $1,800. Certified Pool Operator Training Course
Presented by the Center for Community and Professional Education at Daytona State College, this two-day course is designed to provide the knowledge necessary to safely and efficiently manage and operate swimming pools and spas. Upon completion of this course, the student must demonstrate knowledge of the topics covered in the CPO course, outlined below, by successfully answering 75% of the questions on the National Swimming Pool Foundation written CPO certification exam. The course fee is $275 including text book.

Principles, Practices and Law for Salespersons
Satisfy your pre-licensing educational requirements to become a real estate salesperson. This course will review theoretical, practical and legal aspects of real estate. What You Say Before You Speak
Presented by the Center for Community & Professional Education at Daytona State College. An eight-hour online course offering professionals the knowledge to examine how their actions and appearance effect how others think about them. This course will help you discover problem areas and help you improve. The course was written and is instructed by Lillian D. Bjorseth, a networking expert. She has been speaking nationwide on subjects like networking, building social capital, and appearances since 1990. Cost: $89.95.

Traffic School

Florida 4-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course (BCI & TCAC)
If you have a Florida Driver's License OR you received a ticket in Florida, then the 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement (BDE & TCAC) course is for you! By taking the class, you will not receive any points on your record for the current violation, your insurance will not increase as long as there is no accident associated with the ticket (statute 318.14 (9), and your safe driver status will be maintained. Under Florida law, you may elect to attend a basic driver course in any 12-month period but no more than five times in any 10 year period. Holders of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are not eligible to take this course per statute 318.14. Fee: $35.

Florida 12-Hour Advanced Driver Improvement Course (ADI)

This 12-Hour advanced driver improvement course helps individuals looking to get their license back after a suspension or revocation. The state approved self-paced class is offered completely online, allowing students 90 days to complete the material and have their license reinstated without traveling to a classroom or purchasing additional workbooks. This course does not apply for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) suspension. Fee: $79.

Florida 4-Hour DATA (Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness) Course
All first time drivers in the State of Florida are required to take the Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness (DATA) course before applying for their license. By taking this online course, you will learn about how alcohol and other drugs affect your ability to drive, laws and responsibilities, safe driving techniques, and how to increase your awareness on our roadways. You will also have the option of taking your driver permit exam online after completing this course (if applicable). Fee: $35.

Florida 8-Hour Judge Ordered Driver Improvement
If the court or judge has ordered you to take a traffic class, then the Florida 8-Hour Judge Ordered course is for you! Simply register for the course and start immediately. Please note: this course is NOT for the 8-Hour Driving While License Suspended Course or the 8-Hour Aggressive Driving Course. Fee: $60.

Florida Mature Driver Insurance Discount Course
If you're over the age of 55 and have a Florida driver's license, you can save money on your car insurance by taking this 6-hour online accident prevention course. Boating Safety

Florida Boating Safety Course
Boating courses provide online instruction on how to safely operate a marine craft and get a boating license. If you are under 21 and operating a boat that has 10 hp or more, you are required to take a safe boating course. This curriculum meets state requirements for basic boater education and includes a final exam approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and recognized by the United States Coast Guard. Fee: $20.

Parenting Course
Getting a divorce and have children under the age of 18? The court will ask that both parties take a Parent Education & Family Stabilization Course. This course meets the state requirements and the best part is the course is completely online allowing you to take it in the privacy of your home when it is convenient for you. Wastewater Treatment Plant: Operation Level B
This course focuses on activated sludge treatments of wastewater and modified activated sludge processes including the nutrient removal processes for nitrogen and phosphorus along with residual solids disposal and effluent discharge.  The program places an emphasis on preparing the student to sit for the state licensure examination. Successful completion fulfills course requirements to sit for the Wastewater operator certification examination, Level B.
