DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 10, 2012) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for January 2013.

Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.

Excel 2010, Basic
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2010 training class is designed for students who desire to gain the necessary skills to create, edit, format, and print basic Microsoft Excel 2010 worksheets.  Students will create and edit basic worksheets and workbooks. The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class.  The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.

Jan. 16- March 6, 6-8:30 p.m.
Beginning Conversational Spanish
Presented by the Center for Community & Professional Education at Daytona State College. Are you finding that some of your  customers or co-workers prefer doing their business in Spanish? Are you traveling to a Spanish-speaking country for pleasure? In this course, you will learn essential vocabulary and phrases needed to begin communicating immediately with Spanish speakers.Classes meet on consecutive Wednesdays. Instructor: Lourdes Colon. Cost: $150 (includes 132-page workbook with interactive CD-ROM and other study tools).

Jan. 24, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Excel 2010, Intermediate
Presented by the Center for Business and Industry at Daytona State College, this course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Excel 2010: Basic. Students will learn how to use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently and will start working with more advanced formatting options, including styles, themes and backgrounds. They also will learn how to create outlines and subtotals, how to create and apply cell names, and how to work with tables. Students will save workbooks as Web pages, insert and edit hyperlinks and learn to share workbooks by email. This course also covers advanced charting techniques, use of trendlines and sparklines, worksheet auditing and protection, file sharing and merging, and workbook templates. Finally, students will learn to work with PivotTables and PivotCharts.
The course fee is $85 and includes a student workbook with a CD-ROM containing the lab files used in class.  The deadline to register for each course is one week prior to the course date.
