Information (Fact Sheet)This project includes a new 2.5 million gallon chilled water thermal storage tank which will be added to the existing 3,120 ton Daytona State College Chilled Water Plant. The storage tank will be an insulated, pre-stressed concrete tank, approximately 80 feet high and 74 feet in diameter. Site work and associated electrical, demolition & new work are included with this project as shown in the drawings. The new storage tank is an architectural focal point and icon for Daytona State College with an attractive articulated façade replicating brick infill and colors/tones complimentary to the adjacent plant and campus palette. A large Daytona State College marquee/logo is displayed in three locations high on the tank walls. The college logo also covers the entire tank roof and will be seen prominently by visitors and students flying into Daytona International Airport as well as during aerial coverage of nearby Daytona Speedway sporting events. An alternating, top-lit perimeter metal-framed banner system allows deployment of large changeable banners to highlight upcoming campus events, seasonal and energy/sustainable themes.
- No work is to disturb scheduled classes in any buildings.
- During construction, any systems shutdowns must be scheduled and approved by the Facilities Planning office.
- The College may do a Direct Purchase Order (DPO) for any items of value over $5,000.
