The Cellar can be used by anyone for virtually any purpose. You don’t need an appointment to come hang out in the space, so stop by anytime we’re open to work, play, or relax! Faculty and staff can reserve The Cellar for a class or meeting by contacting Jenna Kranz.
- In April 2012, the DSC-UCF Writing Center opened their downstairs expansion nicknamed “The Cellar.” This space is designed to be multi-functional and reconfigurable, and we encourage whoever’s using the space to make it their own!
- We have furnished the space with sectional couches, work tables, floor rockers, bean bags, end tables, and lap desks. The variety of seating allows students to work comfortably for a variety of activities, from class to groupwork to individual study time.
- We see play as a vital part of learning, so we have equipped The Cellar with board games, toys, coloring books, and magazines. Students can use dry-erase markers to doodle on the whiteboard walls or work tables, or they can get out the board games and have a Scrabble or Jenga tournament.
- The Cellar is equipped with cutting edge technology: interactive projector, high definition tv, recording devices, and a sound system. Whether you’re giving a presentation in The Cellar or just practicing, we can help you!
