Throughout Daytona State College we have on every campus MFDs (Multi-function devices) to support the quick copy needs of Faculty, Staff, and Administrators. These devices work on a secret code which activates the machine to allow access. These same codes are also used when printing to the device.
- Codes are obtained through the Major Cost Center manager who requests them from the Copy Center Manager. Each month the codes and data are downloaded for cross charging.
- Limits can be assigned to users to control the amount of Copying and Printing users consume. Users can be set up to copy to more than one device if needed.
- Paper for the MFDs is always in close proximity to the device, but should only be used on the MFD itself. The cost of the paper is included in the cost per copy on the MFD click charge. This paper should never be taken for use on any other office devices other than the MFDs. The Cost Center Manager will be notified if this practice is not followed. Paper delivered to the MFDs is tracked and reviewed for complience.
MFD Usage Guidelines
Copies made on the MFD should be limited to 40 or less prints. Projects that require 40 or more prints should be directed to the Copy Center located in Bldg 700 Rm 102. The MFDs are to be used for convenience quick copies and not production runs. There is a significant cost savings when production jobs are submitted to the Copy Center.
example:
Copy Center copy .02 vs.MFD copy .03 vs. Desk Top printer .08
Copy Center Color Copy .18 vs. Desk Top Color, .50 -$1.00 !
