2008-2009 NJCAA Men's Baseball Academic Team-of-the-Year
Season Outlook
The 2010 Falcons bring back two former Falcons to the coaching staff. Former pitching coach, Chris Reilly, returns from the University of Cincinnati to take over the pitching staff and recruiting coordinator duties. Phil Enright, who won two conference championships as a closer at Daytona State, will be the Developmental Team pitching coach.
As usual as a two year program, the job to rebuild is an every year project. With All Conference catcher Brian Leino returning behind the plate and the top two conference starts returning (Frankie De Juilio and Matt Hummell) the team has a strong leadership to teach the new group the Falcon way.
The goals for each baseball season go past the baselines of the Falcons Nest. Helping in the community, citizenship, graduation and being a true student-athlete are the judge more than just a won – loss record.
The 2009 Falcons won the National Baseball Academic Team of the Year Award for the third consecutive year, a great feat!
The goals as always are to have the best academic team in the country and return to the state tournament.
