Course Title: Calculus I

Course Description:
Topics include: Functions and graphs, mathematical models, limits, continuity, slope of a curve, derivatives of algebraic and transcendental functions, techniques of differentiation, applications of derivatives, differentials, optimization, plane areas, anti-derivatives, definite integrals, and Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. A graphing calculator is required. (Prerequisite: Appropriate placement scores, successful completion of college prep course or qualified developmental exemption or passed MAC 1140 and MAC 1114 with grade "C" or better or permission of chairperson). This course will help satisfy the graduation requirements of the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. FA, SP, SU.
