Dr. Donald May has been teaching in the Bachelor of Science in Education (BSED) program at Daytona State College since 2010.  He teaches several literacy and classroom management courses among other topics.  Professor May earned a BA in Anthropology and a BA in English from the University of Florida, a master’s degree from the University of Florida, and his doctorate from University of Central Florida. He currently holds a teaching license in Educational Leadership / (All levels), English / (Grades 6-12), English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) / (Grades K-12), Reading Endorsement, and Exceptional Student Education / (Grades K-12).  Dr. May also has served as the Faculty Fellow for Service Learning, responsible for creating and maintaining community partnerships that promote Daytona State College’s Service-Learning programs including several courses in the School of Education, which serve to familiarize pre-service teachers with the challenges faced by many families and children they will serve in the local K12 public schools systems.
