Dr. Motlagh started teaching at Daytona State College in August, 2010. His courses include Telecommunications, Computer architecture, Software Engineering, Ethical issues in Information Technology, Computer programming, as well as other periodic engineering related courses. Professor Motlagh has served as the Program Coordinator/Assistant Chair for BSIT (Bachelor of Science in Information Technology) since he joined Daytona State College.  He has served as Commissioner in ABET (the national accreditation body for engineering/engineering technology/computing programs) from 2009 to 2014. He earned his MS in Computer Engineering and PH.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida. He was a faculty member at UCF’s College of Engineering from 1996 to 2010. Additionally, he has published over 35 peer-reviewed papers in national and international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Motlagh has served as PI/CO-PI in a number of research grants from federal, state, and local governments and institutions as well as served as a reviewer for ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education) publications and conference proceedings.
