At Daytona State College students can earn college credit through CLEP, DSST, or foreign language credit through BYUFLATS.
College Board’s College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) - Student can take test in a variety of introductory college-level material and earn college credit. Students can earn credit for what they already know by getting qualifying scores on any of the 34 exams in subjects like Math, Spanish, French, German, History, and Government.
DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) - Students can earn credit for what they already know by getting qualifying scores on any of the 30 exam titles in college subject areas such as Social Sciences, Math, Applied Technology, Business, Physical Sciences, and Humanities.
Brigham Young University Foreign Language Achievement Testing Services (BYUFLATS) - Students can meet foreign language requirements and in some cases earn credit by testing in over 61 different languages.
Assessment of Prior Learning Experience (APLE) - Credit is provided for experiences which have a theoretical and experiential base related to your course work. Credit is only given for courses offered at Daytona State and is provided for those parts of an AS, AA, BAS or BS degree or certificate which you have mastered. All methods of earning credit must meet equivalent classroom standards
