Honors College
The Honors College at Daytona State College offers students with proven academic ability an assortment of challenging courses to satisfy their intellectual curiosity and quest for knowledge. Most students enrolled in the Honors College intend to earn their bachelor's degree upon graduation from Daytona State College. That is why we place an emphasis on the arts and sciences, and tailor instruction toward preparing students for university transfer and success. Honors classes are small and offer instruction that is more individualized. Other features include:

Students may apply for admission to the Honors College if they meet the following criteria:

Graduation Requirements
Students who wish to graduate from the Honors College must complete the following:
- The Honors College Orientation & Training during the first semester of Honors College, as scheduled
- Establish during the first semester of Honors College an Honors College Committee, which consists of "2" Honors College faculty members - one of which will be identified as the "Student's Committee Chairperson & Honors Advisor"
- The Honors College section of Introduction to Statistics (STA2023), and Introduction to Research Methodology (PSY2932), both with a grade of "B" or better, by the end of the Freshman year (e.g., 30 credits), or before taking more than 6 semester hours of Honors Courses
- Modern American Literature (AML2050), and one of the Honors College offerings in Science (e.g., Science, Fiction, and Films - BSC2930, or Physical Science Honors - PSC1121), both with a grade of "B" or better
- An approved 2-year Research Project and Thesis
- A minimum total of 18 hours of Honors College credit with a grade of "B" or better
- A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better
- Other requirements as determined by the Honors College
