The Cosmetology program now features a Barbering preparation course for any licensed cosmetologist interested in sitting for the barbering state board exam.

Daytona State College's Cosmetology program is performance based and designed to help students develop the general knowledge, problem solving abilities and skills required for workforce placement in their discipline. Incorporated into the curricula is “hands-on” lab participation to promote subject mastery by students. Careful instructional design combined with dedication and a teamwork approach allow our graduates to emerge with the skill and confidence needed to succeed in their career objectives.

How to enroll in the Cosmetology Program

  1. Get admitted to Daytona State College online at www.DaytonaState.edu or go to any Daytona State College admissions office.
    (Remember to enter the program code for the program major you are interested in.) 1084 Cosmetology, Vocational Credit Certificate (1200 Contact Hours)
  2. Complete Daytona State College online orientation.
  3. Take TABE placement exam (Vocational Credit Programs)

Weekly Class Schedule

Day Class:
30 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Evening Class:
25 hours per week, Monday-Friday 5:30-10:30 p.m.

We encourage prospective students to take a tour of the Cosmetology department, to give them the opportunity to see the program in session and meet and talk one-on-one to instructors and current students.
