NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Daytona State College's Abigail Asoro is this week's NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Asoro, a freshman from Stockholm, Sweden, averaged 22.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in three games during the voting period. Asoro recorded double-doubles in all three games, which included wins over FCSAA No. 9 St. Petersburg and NJCAA No. 12/FCSAA No. 3 Tallahassee. Against St. Petersburg on November 14, she tallied 28 points and 16 rebounds in the Lady Falcons’ 68-63 win. Then, at the CF Shootout, she recorded 22 points and 10 rebounds in her team’s 60-58 upset win over Tallahassee on November 16. The next day, she scored 18 points and grabbed 10 boards in a 69-59 win over Broward. For the week, Asoro shot 61.4 percent (27-of-44) from the field and 61.9 percent (13-of-21) from the free throw line.
