Daytona State College Student Rights and Grievance Procedure
Students who perceive that they have been mistreated by college staff or faculty may register their academic or other grievance with a college supervisor, administrator or academic department chair. Distance Learning students must follow the same procedures. Reasonable accommodations will be made for Distance Learning students who are unable to attend meetings on one of the college campuses. Students must assume complete responsibility for complying with the informal grievance procedure and attempt to resolve their grievance at the lowest level possible. Students should consult with the Question and Answer Center to better understand the college procedure for resolving grievances.
Daytona State College desires to resolve student grievances, complaints and concerns in an expeditious, fair and amicable manner. Students residing outside of the State of Florida while attending Daytona State College through online/distance learning classes who desire to resolve a grievance should contact the appropriate College office (Bursar's Office, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, etc.) or contact listed below. However, if an issue cannot be resolved internally, you may file a complaint with the State of Florida or your State of residence. The Student Grievance Contact Information for Florida and individual States provides phone numbers, emails and/or links to state education agencies is noted below.
