FalconNet is a convenient, secure way to access the information and transactions you need around the clock. Access is available from any computer with Internet access (home, work, public libraries or computers on each Daytona State College campus). FalconNet is accessed by clicking on the MyDaytonaState button at the home page, www.Daytonastate.edu.
Though online services are convenient, we still offer parallel, traditional, on-campus services. You can avoid lines and a trip to campus by learning access and use the online student services and its features.
Privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Your educational records are protected by FERPA. You can learn more about FERPA and other consumer information on the link above. Based on FERPA, only you can request or access your student records. They cannot be discussed via email, other than FalconMail, or over the telephone. You may use all or only selected online services that we offer. Each of the current services accessible is described below.
Online Admissions Application
You can select the Apply Online option or visit the Admissions Page to go directly to our online admissions application. Once you have completed the admissions application and your college ID number has been created, you will be able to access all other online student services. This process takes at least one business day.
LOGIN and Falcon Password
Before you can access FalconNet Online Services you will need to login with your Falcon Username and Password (use the default password if you never used the site). The first time you access FalconNet, you will need to retrieve your Username and then enter the default password.
- For your Password, enter the Default Password: the letters "Dsc", your 6-digit birthdate in MMDDYY format, and the last 5-digits of your social security number. Example: if your date of birth is February 10, 1980 and last 5-digits of SSN# is 12345, then your Default Password is: Dsc02108012345. NOTE: the Default Password is case-sensitive. International Students should contact the Admissions Office for assistance.
- Your Username is just the prefix of student email. Example: if email address is email@example.com, then your Username is: jane_smith
It is important that you change your password after logging in (for your security) through your Password Manager and create three security questions so that you are able to reset your password and/or unlock your account. It is important to keep a record of your Falcon Password and also the answers to your security questions should you ever need to access FalconNet again in the future. You can save yourself the inconvenience of losing access by maintaining a record of this information. If for some reason you fail to remember the answers to your security questions, a signed request to the Records & Registration Office to reset your password will be required. Or, you may come to the Registration Office at any campus location and, with identification, have your Falcon Password reset back to the default.
Passwords cannot be changed based on a telephone or email request.
Orientation is an important step to being enrolled and is required of all new and readmitted students. Online orientation is an option. It is geared towards preparing you to be as successful as possible while you are here. It covers schedule planning, important departments to be aware of and other hints to make the most of your experience with us.
You can access your unofficial transcript using FalconNet at any time with no charge. Official transcripts can be ordered for $5 using your falcoNet account.
View Student Schedule/Grades
You look up your schedule and/or your grades under this option. Grades are not mailed each semester. You must access your grades through this option.
Financial Aid Award Status
Access your award status by semester using this option.
Register for your classes using FalconNet. Credit card payment is also available through this option.
This allows students transferring to Daytona State to access the evaluation of credit from the previous institution or institutions attended. This is especially helpful to access prior to registration. If it is not available online, the evaluation has not been completed.
This provides you with a comparison of courses you have earned credit for with the courses you need to complete your degree or certificate program.
Your Student Information
This allows you to update or change your address, phone number, email and major so that we are able to contact you about courses, events and upcoming registrations.
The Student Help Desk
This support service provides you with troubleshooting information and frequently asked questions about using the Web and FalconNet services and some basic tutorials on computer basics. NOTE: This is not a live, technical support site.
FalconMail (Student Email)
FalconMail is email available to all current students, faculty and staff at Daytona State. If you already have an email address, forwarding your FalconMail account to your existing email box is as simple as entering a forwarding address.
College Use of Email
Email is the official and primary internal communication method of Daytona State College. Employees and admitted students are assigned a Daytona State College email account. This account will serve to act as the primary mechanism for official communication with the College for employees and all registered students. Official College communications to employees and registered students will not be sent to personal email accounts (i.e., AOL, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo). Communication of protected student record information will not be sent to personal email accounts at any time regardless of an individual's registration status.
The college has the right to send communications and to expect that communications are received and read in a timely manner. Official email communications are used solely to meet the academic and administrative needs of the campus community. Email is not the sole method for notification of legal action.
Student Email Accounts
Official Daytona State email accounts are assigned to all admitted students. The addresses currently follow this format: firstname_lastname(xxxx)@daytonastate.edu Once students have registered for classes they are expected to check their email on a frequent and consistent basis. The College recommends checking email at least once a day. It is the students' responsibility to recognize that certain email communications may be time sensitive.

Policy will be explained and distributed at New Employee Orientation.
Policy will be restated or students will be directed to the Student Handbook in each course syllabus.
Enrollment Verification provides an official college statement indicating semester(s) of enrollment and student status.
