FCCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Marquise Glaze, Daytona State
Sophomore – Guard – Montgomery, Ala.
Daytona State College’s Marquise Glaze is this week’s FCCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Glaze, a sophomore guard from Montgomery, Ala., averaged 21.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in three games, as the Falcons won the Mid-Florida Conference Tournament and clinched a berth in the FCCAA Tournament. Glaze was instrumental in all three victories, beginning with the regular season finale against Florida State College on February 16, a game in which he scored 22 points. Against Santa Fe in the first round of the MFC Tournament (February 21), he tallied 26 points, keyed by 14-of-14 shooting from the free throw line. One night later against St. Johns River State, he hit two three-pointers in the final 1.4 seconds of the game – the first tied the game; following a turnover, the second one won the game at the buzzer and sent Daytona State to the FCCAA Tournament. For the week, Glaze shot 48.5 percent (16-of-33) from the field, 50.0 percent (6-of-12) on three-pointers and 96.2 percent (25-of-26) from the free throw line.
