Calendar of events at Daytona State announced for July 2015
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 16, 2015) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for July 2015.
Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.
July 13-16, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
3rd Annual Summer Cyber Camp
A virtual world of fun, learning and interactive challenges will be in store for a select group of students entering grades 9-12. This free camp is made possible through the Advanced Cyberforensics Education Consortium (ACE) for which Daytona State is the lead institution among nearly a dozen southeastern colleges and universities and the Central Florida Cyber Alliance. Participation in the summer camp is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are required and must be submitted no later than June 26 along with completion of the summer camp survey for group placement determination.

Sunset Concert Series
Presented by WNZF/Easy Oldies 100.9 FM featuring Daytona State College SGA/Vets Club fundraising concession. The series continues on the 4th Thursday of the month: Aug. 27, and Sept. 24. The DSC Vets Club will host the concession stand during the concerts; cook-out starts at 5 p.m.

Peter McCarthy Falcon Golf Invitational
Known for his strong spirit and dedication to Daytona State College, Peter McCarthy lost his battle with cancer almost two years ago. In his honor, the DSC Athletics Department will hold a charity golf tournament, a sport that he enjoyed very much. With proceeds benefiting student scholarships, as well as volleyball and basketball teams. For a donation of $400, a four-person team receives green and cart fees at a world-class, four-star golf course, as rated by Golf Digest, continental breakfast, beverage tickets and lunch at the prestigious Malcom's Restaurant at LPGA International's clubhouse. Individual participants are also encouraged, along with hole sponsorship opportunities. Awards include: Top Team, Closest to the Pin, Men's Longest Drive and Women's Longest Drive.
