DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2013) - Daytona State College presents the following calendar of events for March 2013.
Events are open to the public and free of charge, unless otherwise noted.
Fitness Center
March 1–29 (closed March 11-15), 11:15. a.m.–noon (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays)
Aqua Aerobics “Stretch & Twist”
This water exercise program provides a total body workout for those of moderate to advanced fitness levels. Classes include exercises for aerobic conditioning, flexibility, and strength training. Aqua Aerobics offers a safe and refreshing way to exercise for all ages. Cost $3 per class.

Swim-Stroke School
Offered by the Aquatic Center at Daytona State College, this Monday, Wednesday, Friday program is led by Coach Ruth. Cost: $55 per month.

March 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, & 29
Water Safety Instructor
Would you like to be certified to teach Swim Lessons? This American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor course. You must be able to pass the pre-test which consists of the following: Front Crawl (25 yds), Back Crawl (25 yds), Breastroke (25 yds), Elementary Backstroke (25 yds), Sidestroke (25 yds), & Butterfly (15 yds). Possess a Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) certificate issued within the past 12 months. Course fee is $225 ($125 for Daytona State College students); a $75 non-refundable deposit is required at registration, balance due first day of classes.

March 25-29, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Swim Break 2013
Bring your kids (ages 8-13) to the Daytona State College Aquatic Center for a full-week of fun, games, exercise and swim stroke improvement. Under the direction of a US swimming coach, kids will work on improving their storkes, as well as play water polo, bingo, basketball, kickball and more. Cost: $130 for the full-week, $70 for mornings only (9 a.m.-noon).
