The mission of the Institute of Marine and Environmental Studies (IMES) is to provide students with the experiences they will need to successfully achieve their academic and career goals.
The A.S. in Environmental Science Technology Program is created to provide and to enrich students with the basic skills, knowledge and abilities in the fields of environmental compliance and technology, and to enable the students to gain entry-level employment in the field. For more information about the EST Program, contact Dr. Jennifer Bell (Jennifer.Bell@daytonastate.edu; 386-506-4303)
Daytona State College Institute of Marine and Environmental Studies is committed to providing unique experiences for students seeking a degree in Marine Science, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Geology and Ocean Engineering. In addition to laboratory and field experiences using state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation, students are encouraged to participate in undergraduate research opportunities. Undergraduate research allows IMES students to contribute to the body of academic knowledge as they participate in original research and then develop their inquiry and presentation skills by presenting their research at professional conferences. Daytona State allows you to spend their first two years at DSC taking the same courses you would take if you were a freshman or sophomore at a 4-year institution and prepares you to transfer to a university research program of study to earn your bachelor’s degree. For more information about IMES AA Transfer Tracks, contact Dr. Debra Woodall (Debra.Woodall@daytonastate.edu; 386-506-3765)
