Professional Math Tutor
TRiO Educational Talent Search
Daytona State College is seeking two (2) Professional Math Tutors for our TRiO Educational Talent Search program. These positions are available through TS Staffing Services, Inc. Applicants who are hired will not be employees of Daytona State College.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. One (1) year teaching, graduate internship, or related experience tutoring mathematics is required. Experience working at the secondary level is desired.
Responsibilities:The successful candidate will provide academic assistance to middle and high school students enrolled in math courses. This position requires travel to designated tutoring locations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The successful candidates must be able to relate to and work with middle and high school students individually and/or in small groups, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. He or she will exercise strong organizational skills, work in a classroom environment, and promote positive student, faculty, and staff relations.
Salary: $14.50/hr (up to 5 hrs/week)
Working Hours: There are two positions: One will serve program participants in Volusia County on DSC’s Deltona Campus and/or at designated middle or high schools; another will serve program participants in Flagler County on DSC’s Flagler/Palm Coast Campus and/or at designated middle or high schools.
