Falcon Athletics Celebrate Academic Excellence

Daytona State Athletics is celebrating yet another year of strong academic performances by the Falcon athletes.  The Falcons snagged three out of six Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) post-season honors.

Daytona State College claims both the men’s and women’s title for FCSAA All-Academic Teams for 2013-2014.  The Women’s Golf program accumulated a 3.77 grade point average on the year earning them honors as the Female All-Academic Team.  Men’s Baseball followed with an impressive 3.61 cumulative grade point average earning them the honor as the Male All-Academic Team for the FCSAA.

Daytona State baseball has bagged the honor of Male All-Academic Team for the FCSAA for 8 straight years.  Falcon Baseball is hoping to claim their 8th National All-Academic Team title in the coming weeks, having won this honor 7 out of the last 8 years.

Women’s Golf continues to celebrate this year’s success.  After claiming their 7th NJCAA National Title under Laura Brown’s lead, the Falcons are proving that they aren’t just talented on the greens, but in the classroom as well.

In addition to exhibiting their academic excellence, Daytona State College’s golfer, Tiffany Chan, claimed individual honors as the Female Athlete of the Year.  Chan’s performance all season, capped off by her dominating personal national championship victory (7 under the next in the field), clearly defined her as a superior athlete in the FCSAA.
