Scholarship Listings

The vast majority of Daytona State scholarships are awarded based on information completed on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and by way of the College’s online application. AAUW Stem Scholar of the Year - $750
New or  continuing, part-time student; pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree with a STEM major; must be a resident of Flagler or Volusia County; enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours; must have completed 12 credit hours with a minimum of six credit hours in STEM-related courses. Student must submit two letters of recommendation – one from a faculty member in major course and one from a personal reference specifying the character of the student.

AC Van Santen Scholarship - $700
Full-time student, pursuing an Associate’s degree leading to qualifications as a Registered Nurse; must be enrolled in minimum 12 credit hours; must maintain minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA; and recipient must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.


Adelia C. Minor Math Education Scholarship - $1,200
Full- time student pursing a Bachelor’s degree leading to qualifications as a Secondary Mathematics teacher; enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours; must maintain minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA; and recipient must demonstrated financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Alane Thomson LaMee Endowment Scholarship - Varies
Student taking a minimum of six credit hours; must maintain minimum 2.5 GPA must be a resident of Flagler or Volusia County. 

Alex Simpkins Crouch Memorial Scholarship - $1,000
New or  continuing, full-time student; pursuing an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree, in a program offered through the Marine and Environmental Studies such as: Marine Science, Marine Biology, Ocean Engineering or Environmental Science/Environmental Science in Technology; must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve credits; must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County and a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Preference will be given to graduates of Seabreeze High School. 

Alicia Avant Erwin Nursing Endowment - Varies
New or continuing, part-time or full time student; must be enrolled in a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse program; must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve semester hours; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

All Aboard Storage Scholarship Endowment - Varies
Student pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business; must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler County, and demonstrated leadership in school or community.

Allen Associate of Science Degree in Nursing Endowment School - $1,200
New or continuing student; must be enrolled in a Registered Nurse program; must maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA. The use of Scholarship funds is restricted to pay for tuition, course materials, books, laboratory or clinical fees, and for the license fee to become a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida upon graduation.

Allen HVAC and Industrial Management Scholarship Endowment Fund - $1,200
New or continuing student; must be enrolled in the HVAC Vocational Certificate Program and to continue to complete an Associate of Science Degree in Industrial Management. Funds may be used to pay for tuition, course materials, books, laboratory fees, and for the license fee.

Allen Paramedic Scholarship Endowment Fund - $1,200
New or continuing student; must be enrolled in the Paramedic Certificate program; upon successfully completing the Paramedic Program, scholarship funds will also be available for candidate to earn an Associate of Science degree. Funds may be used to pay for tuition, course materials, books, laboratory or clinical fees, and for the license fee.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority - Gamma Mu Omega Chapter Scholarship - $500
New or  continuing, part-time or full time student; must be resident of Volusia county; enrolled in a minimum of six semester hours; maintain minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA; and, must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Alsup Trust-Custodial Endowment - Varies
Continuing student enrolled in a degree or certificate program; and must demonstrate financial need.

American Association of University Women, Flagler - $1,200
New or continuing student; must be resident of Flagler County and a U.S. citizen; must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree; enrolled in minimum six credit hours during semester applicable to submission for award; and minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

American Association of University Women, DeLand - Varies
New or  continuing student; must be a resident of Volusia County for at least three years and a U.S. citizen; minimum age is 21; must have temporarily paused formal education due to work, family, or personal reasons and now returning to complete an academic major; and, enrolled in six credit hours minimum. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

American Association of University Women, Daytona Beach - $800
New or  continuing student; must be a resident of the greater Daytona Beach area for at least three years; minimum age is 21; must have temporarily paused formal education due to work, family, or personal reasons and now returning to complete an academic major; and, enrolled in six credit hours minimum. Preference is given to student in Daytona Beach area (broader Halifax area) who is able to attend AAUW, DB meetings. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

American Lung Association of Florida Respiratory Scholarship- $500
New or continuing student who has completed the first semester in the Respiratory Care Program and all the Support Science or General Education courses as per the DSC Catalog prior to the semester for which the scholarship is sought. Applicants must be enrolled in the Respiratory Care Program at DSC in the semester for which the scholarship is sought; must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA; resident Volusia or Flagler County; volunteered for ALAFCA prior to application submittal. Applicants must demonstrate either academic excellence or financial need, must not use any tobacco products, must permit the ALAFCA to publicize the scholarship in the local media, and must agree to meet with the ALAFCA during the semester of the award.

Amy Euliss Campbell Memorial Endowment Scholarship - Varies
New or continuing student; must be pursuing an Associate of Science in Photographic Technology; must be enrolled in minimum of six credit hours; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Annie T. Dixon - $1,000
New or continuing student; must be enrolled in a minimum of six hours in an occupational-technical certificate or degree program; and must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.

Argie First Generation Scholarship - $1,000
New full-time student; must be a resident of Volusia county, and a US citizen; must have graduated from high school no more than 2 years prior; must be pursuing an Associate of Science or a Bachelor's degree; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Artists' Workshop of New Smyrna Beach Scholarship - Varies
New or continuing student; must be a resident of New Smyrna Beach and a US citizen; must be pursuing an Associate of Arts; must be enrolled in six credit hours minimum; minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Recipient must attend one Artist’s Workshop general meeting. Preference given to Studio Arts majors.

AutoCad Scholarship - Varies
Awarded to four students who have completed the first level of Auto CAD program. Funding for tuition (three hours), book, lab fees and some supplies. Recipients selected by program manager.

Bachelor of Applied Science Student Crisis Award – Varies
Awarded to students in crisis for tuition and fees only; must be pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science; Dr. Hamby or Dr. Shea Gartlan will decide who gets the award.

Bagen/General Student Aid Scholarship - $500
Student with disability.

Bank of Americs Dream Makers Scholarship Fund - Varies
$500 scholarship per semester to be  first-generation college student. Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, fees, and childcare. A minimum of a 2.0 is required. Funded by the Florida Community College Foundation. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Barbara Amos Sipe Scholarship - $1,000
Non-traditional student; must be enrolled full time; must have completed minimum of 90 credit hours towards a Bachelor's degree in either: Elementary Education or Exceptional Student Education. Scholarship monies can be used for tuition, fees and/or books only. Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for federal awards. Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Battelle Memorial Scholarship Marine Science - Varies
New or continuing full-time student; must be a US citizen; must be enrolled in the Marine Science program; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Bell South Scholarships - Varies
Full-time student; must be enrolled in a Communications and/or Marketing program; must have completed 24 semester hours minimum; maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; scholarship recipient must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Bernice N. Fishpaw Nursing Scholarship - $850 
New or continuing student, enrolled part-time, pursuing the Licensed Practical Nursing Limited Access Program; must be resident of Volusia County; and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.50 GPA.  Open to a currently employed Licensed Certified Nursing Assistants or Licensed Practical Nurses aspiring to become a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.  Must provide current CNA or LPN License.

Bert Fish Foundation BSN Scholarship Fund - Varies
New or continuing student enrolled in a BSN program; must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; Awards amounts will vary on credit hours enrolled. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Bert Reames International DSC Student Fund - Varies
Non-resident of the U.S. pursuing a degree; must have completed minimum two years in program and making satisfactory progress towards degree completion; and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.


Bill Chappel Memorial Scholarship - $800

New or continuing student enrolled in a minimum of six semester hours; and must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.


Bill Duff Scholarship - $2,500
Third-year student seeking a bachelor’s degree taking a minimum of 12 credit hours; must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA; must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to residents of West Volusia. Award amount may not exceed $5,000 per year for more than two years.

Bill Gordon Automotive Scholarship - $850
New or continuing student enrolled for at least twelve semester hours in an automotive program during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.  Applicants must maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion and student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Bobby Thigpen Scholarship – Varies, $600 to $1,200
New or  continuing student playing soccer;  must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours; must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler counties; minimum cumulative GPA 2.5; award distribution is according to credit hours enrolled: $600 for six to eight; $900 for nine to 11; $1,200 for 12 or more.

Edna Brewster Disabled Student School & Emergency Fund- Varies
Student with a disability; recipient is selected by Counseling and Accessibility Services ; preference to those with vision impairment.

Brian Kelley Scholarship - $600 to $1200
Student pursuing a music degree and ambitious for a career in the music industry; also, baseball players; must be a Volusia county resident; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to students who reside in Ormond Beach. Award distribution is according to credit hours enrolled:  $600 for 6 to 8 credits; $900 for 9 to 11 credits and $1,200 for 12+ credits.

Business and Professional Women's Club - $600-$1200
Student pursuing in either an Associates of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Education or Business; must be a resident of Ormond Beach or Daytona Beach for at least one year; minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA; and, must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Preference for a student needing help to graduate.

Carol Chabot Murphy Scholarship Fund- Varies
Full-time student pursuing a career or vocational, i.e. certificate program; must be resident of Volusia county; must maintain minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA. Student must be referred by staff or department of DSC and must attend the Deland and/or Daytona Beach campuses. Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Preference will be given to students who have shown some compassion for others by volunteering at various times.  Student may not qualify for grants or scholarships available through other programs of scholarship funds.

Central Florida Regional Hospital Scholarship - Varies
Non-traditional, full-time student pursing a registered nursing program for two semesters in which the scholarship is sought; minimum 2.5 GPA; agree to employment contract with CFRH for a working commitment for one year of employment after attaining the RN license for each year of scholarship assistance received. CFRH makes final decision on recipient.

Charles E. Creal Memorial Endowment Scholarship - Varies
Student pursuing the visual art or a studio arts program; must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Flagler County or Volusia County; and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Cheryl Ann Case Gannett Endowment- $1,200
Student pursuing an Associate’s of Science in Nursing during the semester for which the scholarship is sought; minimum 2.5 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Constantin Crachilov Merit Scholarship Fund - Varies
Full-time International student majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) for an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Applied Science; must be enrolled in 12 credit hours; minimum 3.5 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Cox/Smith International Scholarship - Varies
International degree-seeking student; must be making satisfactory progress towards degree completion; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Dana Rodman Tiffany Endowment Scholarship - $800
Non-traditional, continuing student who has returned to college to complete their education. Applicant must have completed at least six semester hours; enrolled in six credit hours; and, have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Sibthorp/DAR Scholarship - $500 (Spring semester award)
New full or part-time resident of Volusia or Flagler County; seeking an Associate of Science degree or certificate program; minimum 2.5 GPA; and, a graduate of the Fresh Start Program.

David Stevens Culinary Management Endowment- $600 to $1,000
Culinary management program student; resident of Volusia or Flagler County - does not require US citizenship; minimum 3.0 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

David W. Goddard Scholarship - $800
Health-related program student; enrolled for in at least 12 semester hours; minimum 2.0 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Dayle E. Metzger Business Scholarship - Varies
Multimedia/Broadcast Communications student in Associate or Certificate program.

Daytona Beach Builders Exchange Endowment - $1200
Architectural and Building Technology program student enrolled in 12 hours toward the Associate degree; minimum 2.0 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Daytona Beach West Rotary Club Scholarship - Varies
Veteran or immediate family member of a veteran (active or honorably discharged); minimum 2.0. GPA. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Deltona Regional Campus Rotaract Scholarship - Varies          
Deltona campus student involved in Rotaract. 

Destin Franklin Dental Hygiene Education Transfer Scholarship - $1,000
DSC Dental Hygiene program graduate pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

Donna Lee Milone Scholarship – Varies
Full-time student; minimum 2.5 GPA; resident of Volusia or Flagler County; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Dr. D. Kent Sharples Bachelor of Applied Science Scholarship - $500 each semester
Bachelor’s degree seeking junior or senior at DSC; minimum 3.0 GPA; fall and spring awards. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Dr. John H. Staples Memorial Endowment Scholarship - $800
Volusia or Flagler County student; enrolled in six or more hours; minimum 2.5 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Dr. N. P. Pillai Memorial Scholarship - Varies
Full-time science student pursuing a biomedical career; Florida resident and U.S. citizen or permanent resident; intends to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in field either at DSC or another four-year institution; minimum 3.0 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Dr. Nancy Thomas Memorial Health Information Technology Program- $1,000
Full-time 2nd year student in Health Information Technology Associates of Science program; active participant in Health Information Technology student club; minimum 2.5 GPA; and, preference of demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Drs. Roberta and Bernard Gropper Endowment- $600 to $1200
Nursing student pursuing Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 hours completed; Flagler or Volusia County resident; minimum 3.0 GPA; and, preference of demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Award distribution as follows: $600 enrolled 6 to 8 hours; $900 enrolled 9 to 11 hours; $1,200 enrolled for 12 or more hours. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

DSC Administrator's Council Scholarship - $300
Student enrolled at least 3 hours and maintaining a 2.5 GPA.

DSC Alumni & Friends Association Scholarship
Full- or part-time DSC alumni (any program or certificate); 6-hour enrollment required; minimum 2.5 GPA; and, active in community service.

DSC Culinary Management Fund - $500 to $1,200
Continuing Culinary Management Associate of Science program student; minimum 3.0 GPA; and, demonstrated need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Award distribution: $500 for 3 to 98 hours; $900 for 9 to 11 hours; $1,200 for 12 or more hours.

DSC Dental Hygiene Scholarship - $600 (P/T) to $900 (F/T)
Continuing part- or full-time student pursuing an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene; resident of Flagler or Volusia County; enrolled in minimum of six credit hours; minimum 2.5 GPA; community service document in essay with written explanation as to benefits expected as a result of scholarship; and, preference for  and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. Will be given to student who has financial need.

DSC Writing Awards
Writing awards are currently given out annually, prior to commencement, during the Spring semester of each academic year. Foundation to be notified by DSC English Department of award recipients.

Duane L. Lockhart Scholarship-$100-$1,200
Continuing, part or full time, student; pursuing either Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); must resident of Volusia or Flagler county; enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours; Scholarship amount explained:  $100 per credit hour; maximum $1,200 per semester. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Early Childhood Education Scholarship - Varies
New or continuing student pursuing an Associates of Science in Early Childhood Education, or BAS program; must be a resident of Flagler or Volusia County; and must demonstrate financial need. 

East Florida Doll Collectors Guild Scholarship- $800
New student who are graduates of a Volusia or Flagler county high school; must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 high school GPA and must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to student who is majoring in the Arts (music, drama, theater or dance).

Eddie Lee Taylor Memorial Endowment Scholarship-$600-$1,000
New or continuing student pursuing career in law enforcement; must be resident of Volusia or Flagler; Scholarship amount explained: $600 per semester for part-time; $1,000 per semester for full-time.

Edmund R. & Victoria M. Wirths Scholarships- $1,000
New or continuing student enrolled in at least twelve semester hours during the semester for which the scholarship is sought; must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA and must demonstrate financial need. First preference will be given to students in music, with emphasis on stringed instruments, especially the violin; second preference will be given to students in teaching careers; and third preference will be given to students in medical arts and health-related fields.

Edward Teschner Jr. Memorial Nursing- $1,000
New or continuing student pursuing the Nursing Associate Degree, Registered Nurse program; enrolled in six credit hours minimum; must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Elizabeth Barr Studio Arts Scholarship Fund - Varies
New or continuing student pursuing an Associates of Art Degree in Art; must be enrolled in minimum of 9 credit hours; must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students taking classes in studio arts, painting, printmaking, watercolor, drawing, pottery, sculpture, stone carving, ceramics and design (not computer or digital).

Elizabeth Schumacher Memorial Nursing- $800
New or continuing student pursuing an Associate Degree Nursing, Register Nurse program; must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county; must have a 3.0 GPA; and must demonstrate financial.

Emily & Thomas Murphy Endowment for Emergency Support- $1,250- $2,500
New or continuing, non-traditional, student; must be a resident of Volusia County; must demonstrate financial need.  Scholarship amount explained: Up to $1,250 per Scholarship, up to $2,500 per student per year.

Eric & Lillian Lenholt Memorial- $1,000
New or continuing, full or part-time student; must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and must demonstrate financial need. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply. 

Foundation Board of Directors Retention Cohort Scholarship - Varies    
 “First time in college" student; funds needed are to encourage retention and academic success. 

Foundation Board of Directors Second Chance Scholarship Fund - Varies
Student previously enrolled in DSC or another institution and did not pass successfully or who dropped out and are not eligible for financial aid until they remedy their GPA. 

Financial Educators Federal Credit Union Scholarship - Varies 
Support of the DSC athletic program through scholarships and athletic program support.

Firefighters Education Endowment-$1,000         
New or continuing student pursuing a Firefighter Minimum Standards Training; must maintain minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; Funds distributed at discretion of School of Emergency Services Director.

Flagler/Palm Coast Scholarship-$800
New or continuing student pursuing a degree; must be a Flagler County resident; must be enrolled in six credit hours minimum; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and must demonstrate financial need.

Florida Blue Scholarship - Varies
 New or continuing student; must be pursuing a degree in the Nursing and Allied Health Program; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; must demonstrate financial need. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Florida Health Care Plans Auxiliary Scholarship- $600-$1200
 New or continuing part-time student; must be a dependent of a FHCP employee who has met FHCP's probationary requirements of six months and works at least 20 hours per week; must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; must be enrolled in at least six credit hours.  The scholarship may be awarded over multiple semesters as long as the scholarship criteria continues to be met.   Scholarship recipient may be expected to attend the Florida Health Care Plans Auxiliary banquet in the year that the award is received. Award explained: $600 for part-time; $1200 for full-time.

Florida Hospital Deland Medical Staff Scholarship – Varies
Awarded to students for GED classes and GED testing; must be a resident of Deland. 

Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation Scholarship-$2,500
New or  continuing student;  Scholarship shall be based on merit as determined by an audition (at a mutually agreed upon date and time to be attended by the donor), judged by three DSC faculty, not on financial need basis; Recipient must remain in good academic standing in order to receive the second semester funding or to apply for a second year of funding;  Recipient must appear on stage to receive a ceremonial check from the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation at the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend or other event to be determined, and agrees to participate in photography of this presentation for publication by the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation, the DSC Foundation, and/or the College. Award will be $2,500, paid over two academic semesters.

Follett Athletic Scholarship- $1,000
New or continuing student; must be enrolled in at six semester hours minimum; must have a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA; and must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Follett Bookstore Scholarship - Varies
Scholarship based on recommendation of DSC VP of Finance. 

Frances Keeling Coe Endowment Scholarship-$3,200
New or continuing student; must have a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA; and must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to non-traditional students. To receive subsequent installments for 4 semesters (total of $3,200) student must maintain minimum scholarship requirements.
Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

 

Mildred Frank Scholarship for the Visually Impaired
New or continuing student enrolled in “Assisting Persons with Limited Vision”; must be continuing education class at Daytona State. Fund may pay for tuition, instructor and course materials.

Friends of WCEU-TV Quasi Endowment/Title III- $600
TV student pursuing an Associate’s of Science degree in Broadcast Television Production, Television Studio Production Certificate or Broadcast Television Production Certificate.
Must be enrolled in one of the following courses:

Volusia County High School graduate enrolled in career and technical programs at the DSC Advanced Technology College.

SCV James F. Hullcamp Book Fund for Veterans - Varies
Grants to assist veteran students financial need and limited financial resources to purchase required textbooks or e-books required for the classes in which they are enrolled; the Director of the DSC Veteran Center, in consultation with Financial Aid and or the Foundation may select students who will benefit from this fund.

Second Chance Scholarship – Russak   $600 for 6-8 credit hours; $900 for 9 - 11 credit hours; $1100 for taking 12 credit hours or more
Full or part-time student who has completed at least 12 college credits or one full semester within a vocational certificate program; must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours; does not have to demonstrate financial need.

Full or part time, new or  continuing student, must be enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours; must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA; must be an active participate in their church or community organization and have work experience; must demonstrate financial need. Law enforcement program or law enforcement business program student for a minimum of 12 hours; 2.5 GPA.

Full or part-time student in the B.S. in Engineering Technology - Information Systems Technology or Information Mgmt./Tech. major or related discipline; must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA; must be a Florida resident; must demonstrate financial need. 

Smyrna Yacht Club Scholarship –New student: $1,500 ($750 for Fall $750 for Spring) Returning student: $1,000 scholarship ($500 Fall and $500 Spring)
New or continuing student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours; must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; returning student must have completed 15 credit hours. Scholarship recipient will be recommended to the Foundation by an unbiased committee organized by the Smyrna Yacht Club (three or more persons); Scholarship recipients may be requested to attend the Smyrna Yacht Club annual scholarship luncheon.

St. Augustine Youth Services Scholarship Fund - $400
Student in the Fresh Start Program for tuition, supplies, fees, books or other identified expenses referred by the SAYS;  student must have adequate attendance in FRESH START classes, missing no more than 2 sessions, with the exception of emergencies and medical needs;  student must meet with Career Services;   student must attend Admissions Checklist Meeting;  student must complete FSA ID & FAFSA;  student must meet with Academic Advisor; and, Student must meet with Financial Aid Advisor. 

St. Bernadette Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society Scholarship - Varies
Students chosen by the PACE Center for Girls. Recipient must participate in the Fresh Start Program, attend summer classes, remain in good academic standing for subsequent awards; and for continuing support, must participate in the TRIO Program. Scholarship will pay for meal plan, books and equipment.

STEM Book Scholarship Fund - Varies
New or continuing, FT or PT student taking a minimum of three credit hours in one of the following majors: Science, Technology, Engineering or Math; seeking an AS or BS degree. Recipient must be recommended by a DSC faculty member. 

Stephen C. Way Memorial Endowment - $1,000
New or continuing student enrolled in at least twelve semester hours in a business program; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA; must not be eligible for, nor receiving financial aid.

Steve Schildecker BSN Scholarship - $1000
Bachelor of Science in Nursing student; must maintain satisfactory progress toward program completion; must demonstrate financial need. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Surgical Tech Emergency Dept. Fund - Varies
Monetary grant made to Surgical Tech student for emergency needs as determined by the Surgical Technology program manager. 

Ed Talton West Campus Book Scholarship Fund - Varies
Emergency fund under the direction of the Deland Campus Director. 

Taz Zachos Memorial Award - $500
Student with the highest GPA in the first semester of the Respiratory Care Program for the first four core courses as documented by Program Faculty. 

The Center for Women & Men Advisory Board Scholarship - $1,000
New or continuing student who has or is participating in programs sponsored by the Center for Women & Men, i.e., Fresh Start, New Directions, EL Civics, CCAMPIS; must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA; enrolled in at least six credit hours or ready to apply to DSC as evidenced by financial aid application completion; must demonstrate financial need.  There is no limit as to the number of times an individual may apply, but a student can only receive an award through this fund once in an academic year.

New or continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in science; must have a GPA of 3.0, must demonstrate financial need.

Tillandsia Garden Club Scholarship - $1,000
New or continuing, full-time student pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in an Environment related science major; must have 3.0 GPA; must have graduated from a Volusia County High School; must be a US Citizen.

Tom and Julie Hilburn Scholarship - $1,000
Pursuing a firefighter certificate; must maintain a 2.5 GPA; must demonstrate financial need.

VADM John S. Disher Simulation Technology Scholarship
New or continuing student enrolled in simulation technology degree program; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; must be a Florida resident, must demonstrate some degree of financial need.

Vance and May McMurtry Adult Education Scholarship Endowment - $250
New college credit student who successfully completes the GED program at DSC.  Applicants' essays should address two topics:  "What are your career and educational goals and how do you plan to reach them?" and "What obstacles have you had to overcome in order to attain your GED?" 

Virginia M. Lipka Nursing Endowment Scholarship - $1000
New or continuing student enrolled for at least six semester hours pursuing an Associate Degree in Nursing; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; must demonstrate financial need.

Virginia T. Bingham Scholarship - $1,000
Awarded based on financial need and academic excellence. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Student who has completed at least one semester in a nursing program; must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Volusia County Medical Scholarship - $800
Student taking a minimum of nine credit hours pursuing an AS or AA degree, first choice to a student on a biology track, pre-med major; second choice to a student in the nursing field; must have a minimum 3.25 GPA; must have been a resident of Volusia County for a minimum of one year; must have completed a minimum of 25 semester hours; must be a US Citizen.  Preference given to students who have successfully completed their AS degree at DSC through the Duel Enrollment Program.  Preference will also be given to students who are relatives of VCMS members and/or who are referred to / by VCMS members.  Students essays should confirm their career goals in the field of Biology and/or Pre-Med.  Students must also indicate if they are a relative of a VCMS member.

Volusia Manufacturers Association Scholarship - Varies
New or continuing student enrolled in at least six semester hours in the Manufacturing Technology Degree program or the Machine Trades Apprenticeship program; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Scholarship recipients may be requested to attend a meeting or luncheon with Volusia Manufacturers Assoc. Representatives.

Wallace and Hanna Miller Endowment Scholarship - $1,000per semester
New or continuing student taking 12 credits or more; must have a minimum 3.0 GPA; must demonstrate financial need. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Walter Konak Endowment Scholarship - $1,000 per semester
New or continuing student enrolled a minimum of six semester hours; must maintain 2.0 GPA. Online bachelor’s degree students are also eligible to apply.

Watts-Greenlee Music Scholarship - $500
New or continuing student enrolled in at least six semester hours in a music major (or who is preparing for a music-related career); must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, must demonstrate financial need.

Letitia T. White Memorial Scholarship - Varies
Student who has completed 12 hours; must have at least a 3.0 GPA; must demonstrate some degree of financial need; must demonstrate volunteerism in the community. Preference will be given to residents of Flagler, St. Johns, and Putnam Counties.

William W. Gay Veteran Scholarship - $1200
New or continuing, full or part-time student; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA; must be a Volusia County resident, with a strong preference for Eastern Volusia County.  Must be a Veteran or an immediate family member (spouse or child) of a veteran.   Active duty military satisfies veteran requirement and if discharged must be honorably discharged. Recipient must attend and speak at a Rotary Club Meeting. 

WISE Scholarship – “Wisdom In Senior Education” - $500
Full-time second year student enrolled in 12 or more credit hours planning to continue their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree at Daytona State; must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

AAUW Stem Scholar of the Year- $750
Student who resides in Volusia or Flagler counties and is seeking a STEM-related A.A. degree. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, must have completed 12 credit hours, six of which must be in STEM-related classes.

The Garden Club of Halifax Country Scholarship - $2,000 
Full-time student enrolled in the Photographic Technology program who has completed a minimum of 24 credit hours; must have a 3.0 GPA; must be a resident of Volusia or Flagler county; must demonstrate financial need.  Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a DSC faculty member.  The selected candidate will be invited to attend an event hosted the Garden Club of Halifax Country.

 

  1. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series Scholarship -$1,000 per award
    Awarded during the March Entrepreneurial Speaker Series to three students interested in becoming entrepreneurs. The focus of this lecture series is to encourage opportunities for leadership and public service to students and others, to help develop an understanding and appreciation for our free enterprise system, and to motivate participants to strive for personal success in their lives. Award categories include:
  • Volusia or Flagler County high school student who will attend Daytona State College
  • Current Daytona State College student pursuing a degree
  • Daytona State Adult Education student
     

Halifax Health Education to Employment – Varies
Tuition and fees paid for various medical fields in exchange for commitment to work at Halifax Health for three years. Recipients will be interviewed and approved by Halifax Health.

William H. Murray Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund - $2,000 Scholarship ($1,000 in Fall and $1,000 in Spring) 
Continuing student enrolled in at least 10 credit hours in the nursing program; must have a minimum 3.0 GPA; must demonstrate financial need. Essay should include educational and career goals, awards or honors received, community and/or school activities and extenuating financial circumstances.
