Course Title: Introduction to African American Literature

Course Description:
A survey of the African American history tradition from the eighteenth century to the present as reflected in a variety of oral and written traditions: songs, speeches, poetry, short-fiction, novels, drama, autobiographies, journals and letters. This course contributes to satisfying the Gordon Rule (State Rule 6A-10.030) writing requirement. This course will help satisfy the graduation requirements of the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree.
